Hello LCP Family!
2025 was a year of transition for us. We put the magazine on permanent hiatus because of personal commitments and desire for us to work on releasing our novels.
Editor Annie James Thomas released her first novel, The Boy Who Brought the Sea, and Fred Charles is about to release his first novel, Broken Sentences: A Novel of Existential Dread, on 2/3/2026!
We are taking the next month to decide on a new direction for Loud Coffee Press. For this year at least, we are planning to focus on expanding our Substack to focus more on culture-based things we enjoy as well as a blog about creativity. We are also toying with the idea of putting out a call for submissions and publishing an anthology in both print and Kindle format.
We’re not sure what’s in store for Loud Coffee Press in 2026, but we hope you will stick around for the ride!
Anyway, here are some cool things to check out!
Do you believe in Bigfoot? The Mothman? What about the Sandown Clown or the Atlantic Ocean Winged Abomination? We didn’t know there were so many cryptids until began listening to this podcast! Join Greg as he tells his friends Dan and Eric about weird creatures and creepy stories as they travel around the world! You can listen to Greg’s Cryptid Corner on all major podcast platforms. You will believe…maybe.
If you enjoy old-school fantasy, we highly recommend checking out the Elric saga! The Elric series is part of the sword and sorcery genre made popular by Robert E. Howard’s Conan series. Elric is a doomed anti-hero and one of the more popular characters in fantasy. If you like dark and adult fantasy with some 60s psychedelia thrown in, you will enjoy this series!
Nefarious is a really interesting take on the demonic possession genre. The story centers on a convicted serial killer being evaluated by a psychiatrist to determine whether he is insane. Most of the story is a dialogue-driven cat-and-mouse game between the killer and the man who holds his fate in his hands.
Cheers!
Fred and Annie, Loud Coffee Press!
